THE COMPANY IS THE KEY
Facilitating the recruitment of people with a different ethnic background is not about charity. On the contrary. Many companies have a need to recruit, and describe that they have difficulty reaching the target group of foreign-born job seekers via their traditional recruitment channels. This is a huge waste of resources, both for companies, individuals and society.
Opportunity Day's idea is simple. It's about showing the benefits, the business benefit and the societal benefit of diversity. Next, we exist to lower the thresholds to recruit in new networks by giving companies and jobseekers the means to meet. Our watchwords are to: 1. go from thought to action, and 2. talk about opportunities instead of problems.

THIS IS WHAT SOME OF OUR PARTNERS SAY ABOUT THEIR COMMITMENT:
”Fewer people without jobs and more utilisation of skills is the key to a well-functioning society. We need to get better at finding and utilising the skills that exist in Sweden, regardless of how they are packaged. The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise is working with Opportunity Day to open doors and minds and contribute to a more inclusive labour market with a focus on business benefits.”
Rudolph Anthony Regional Director Confederation of Swedish Enterprise
“For me, better integration is about creating a better understanding between different cultures and the opportunities diversity creates. To understand each other, we need to come together to discover all these opportunities. Opportunity Day is about this and is therefore an important piece of the puzzle for better integration.”
Mr Fredrik Johansson - CEO, DoubleGroup
“Integration is one of our most important challenges, not least here in the Gothenburg region, and at the same time a means for growth. A challenge that must be tackled by us together in several different ways. Among other things, through Opportunity Day, which we at Setterwalls are therefore happy to support as a business law partner.”
Joakim Edoff, Managing Partner, Setterwalls Gothenburg
”At Estrella, where I work, diversity is a prerequisite for our development. In our core values work, we work with our five guiding stars, of which Community is one. There we say that our goal is to continue to grow. It is only when we work together towards clear goals that we can achieve long-term success. That's why it's important that we communicate with clarity and openness, share knowledge, give each other confidence and take well-considered decisions together. Diversity helps us reach our goals faster. Our different origins, experiences and competences make us a stronger team. That's why it feels natural for me to be an Opportunity Day Ambassador. An organisation whose mission is to bring people from different cultures together so that we develop both in our companies and society. Networking with the aim of bringing people from other cultures who need work with entrepreneurs who need labour is a great way to increase diversity in our society.” Carina Hansson, CEO, Estrella AB
”Construction companies are helping to prepare Sweden for 11 million inhabitants, and this requires greater diversity. Everyone, regardless of background, should feel welcome and see the construction industry as their future”
Anna Lönn Lundbäck - Regional manager West, Byggföretagen
