TROLLHÄTTAN MEETS
- and you are welcome
Soon it will finally be time for the second edition of Trollhättan meets. Then we all meet, regardless of background and circumstances, to take on a music quiz with live music.
Meetings for awareness
Prejudices are like fog. They dissipate when we get closer to each other. That's why Opportunity Day is organising “Trollhättan möts”. An event focusing on human encounters, in a light-hearted way, because we know that inclusion is based on talking to each other, not about each other.
Research shows that when people meet, prejudices are reduced. There is even a word for it. It is called the contact theory. For it to work optimally, the meeting should take place on equal terms and preferably with a common goal, which you work together on. In the best of worlds, it should also involve several meetings.
Said and done - now we at Opportunity Day Trollhättan are launching our new concept “Trollhättan meets”. It's an event that starts in the private sphere, where we meet as people, not as job seekers and employers.
There is no preparation required. Everyone can join. Those who come will make a contribution to a more inclusive society, but without any workload. By having fun together, the fog will lift and we will truly be able to see each other.
LIVE MUSIC QUIZ AT SCANDIC SWANIA
Workshop: Workplace culture and networks
A workshop on norms and unwritten rules. We also talk about the importance of professional networking. 7 out of 10 jobs go through contacts, how to find the right one? Aimed at job seekers born outside Sweden. The workshop is held at University West in Swedish and English.
Panel discussion: A safer society through inclusion.
Welcome to a panel discussion based on the book Four Rooms for Integration, by comedian and lecturer Kadir Meral. The panellists, who are actors from the four rooms, will have the opportunity to exchange thoughts and experiences with each other about their efforts and initiatives.
On 26 November, we'll all come together, regardless of background and ability, to take on a music quiz with live music. Want to win the quiz? Make sure your team is the champion of diversity! Free of charge, limited number of places.
Trollhättan meets
part of the Opportunity Day Trollhättan
In November, it's time for the second edition of Trollhättan möts. There will be a music quiz. But what does it have to do with labour market inclusion? Both everything and nothing. Opportunity Day Trollhättan is an initiative that will make it easier for employers to recruit with greater diversity and to build more inclusive companies and organisations.
But there is no one who is just their job title. If we get rid of our prejudices as fellow human beings and together create a society made up of a common we, then that will affect how we act in our workplaces too.
So a music quiz may not be the most common route to inclusion. But maybe the most fun?
